Nepal has been the focus of outstanding achievements in the world of peak climbing expeditions, with its eight peaks above 8000 m. Include world highest peak Mt. Everest 8550m. It has challenged the minds and bodies of those who have dared for decades. Among the identified 1310 peaks above 6000 meter, one quarter are officially opened for mountaineering activities, including the 'trekking peaks'. Climbing these peaks is the next step beyond 'simply' trekking, before scaling the 8000-meter peaks.

For the more adventurous traveler, there are existing 18 minor peaks and newly categorized 15 peaks opened for climbing under Nepal Mountaineering Association. The climbing of these peaks is controlled under the rules and regulations formulated by the Association. It should be noted that in most cases the climbing of these minor peaks (Trekking Peaks) require snow and ice climbing experience, safety and expected successes. By Himalayan standards these are considered minor peaks, but in fact some of then provide relatively challenging snow and ice climbing of high standard, and more so in Winter The peak climbing fee for a group are as follows:
